Cooperation across borders on energy-efficient coating

Sustainability is a key part of Electrolux Professional’s strategy, culture, and day-to-day operations. As our compass for contributing to a more sustainable world, we use the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By focusing on innovative research, we can help our customers around the globe to reduce the climate impact together.

Our main climate impact occurs as our products consume energy and we believe that we can make a difference throughout our value chain by developing energy-efficient and low-consuming products. Product development and innovation is a key enabler for reducing the climate impact from product use and we therefor invest in our primary development in order to make sure to stay at the forefront of innovative research.

In order to develop a new innovative energy-efficient coating, Electrolux Professional is through The Research Hub taking part in the cross-collaborative project FasTher together with our partners The Polytechnic Department of Engineering and Architecture of The University of Udine and the Austrian coating company PLT Powdercoatings. This is made possible thanks to funds received by the European Union through the program Interreg Italy-Austria, which is one of the key instruments of the EU supporting cooperation across borders through project funding. Its aim is to jointly tackle common challenges and find shared solutions in fields such as sustainable energy and environment. And this new energy saving coating will be an essential consideration for achieving vital energy saving milestones.
